http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/National_Women's_Day
On 9 August 1956, over 20,000 women  all races  marched to the  Union Building in Pretoria to protest against the pass laws. The women sang a protest song Wathint'Abafazi Wathint'imbokodo! (Now you have touched the women, you have struck a rock.). Since 9 August 1994, the day has been remembered annually and is known as "Women's Day" in  South Africa.

The lyrics of the song that women sang:
Wathint' abafazi, Strijdom!
wathint' abafazi,
wathint' imbokodo,
uza kufa!

[When] you strike the women,
you strike a rock,
you will be crushed [you will die]!

Elephant in the room

Each and every individual has that topic or discussion he/she avoids, even though they know it is something that they need to deal with. They can't get way from it although it is making them uncomfortable.

For instance in most black families it is still a taboo to speak about sex, although the parents know that they should be talking about it to their children. But some how they tend to avoid the topic. Most black parents say they feel uncomfortable when such topic comes up. They know that their children are being thought and told about sex each and every day.

The topic is unavoidable...

Our greatest strength is our greatest weakness

Each and every person has their strengths (a point where you really good at) and you have your weakness (where you not good at). Everybody knows their strong and weak points but sometimes your strength can turn to your weakness when you know sure about it.

I have obtained a skill of writing because of the career path I took. I used to be good at writing to a point where a person could throw me with any topic to write about and I would be able to write about it. As time went by the skill became my greatest weakness because I was not writing even short stories and I was not reading more often to copy the way certain writers write.  My writing was not a talent it was a skill so in order to keep a skill you must always practise it and that’s what I failed to do.

The most unexpected consequences of being online

Social media has become the most powerful instrument of communication globally; however there are unexpected consequences when using social media.
Unexpected consequences
  • Making a statement against a certain religion, race and gender can be used against you. Make sure you write something that will not offend certain people.
  • When you are on social networks you can find people who are not there for the same reason as you are. Some people might be there for dating whiles you there to meet old friends.
  • You might find out that there are people who are following you or are your friends on face book just to spy on you (Nosy people).
  • When you are using social networks your style of writing changes, sometime this could lead to a point were you can’t spell words.
  • You can become antisocial and that could lead to loneliness and weight gain.
  • When a person posts naked pictures of themselves people initially know what kind of a person you are.  Be careful of what kind of pictures you post.
  • Hooking up with people you meet on social networks can lead to death or even rape. Dating people on lone is a No No…
